Following consultation this event was approved for a permit; the event proceeded without incident.
Project Information
City of Adelaide has received a permit application from Massive Events Corp PL for the temporary closure of a section of Rundle Street, Rundle Road, East Terrace and Rymill Park/ /Murlawirrapurka (Park 14) to stage the Adelaide Rally Finale event on Sunday 28 November 2021 - see below:

Rundle Road between East Terrace and a point 100 meters east.
12 noon to 10.30pm
Rundle Street between Ebenezer Place and East Terrace
1pm - 9.30pm
East Terrace between Grenfell Street and North Terrace
1pm - 9.30pm
Under the Local Government Act 1999, the City of Adelaide is required to consult the public before it can grant a permit for an event that requests to use a public road for business purposes, and the said purpose will require whole or partial road closure(s) that may impede the passage of traffic to a material degree.
Background
The Adelaide Rally is Australia’s largest tarmac rally. The racing itself will occur in the Adelaide Hills from the 24th to 28th November 2021. The Adelaide Rally Finale in the East End event caps off three days of intense competition at the Adelaide Rally with a free community event and static car display proposed to occur on section of Rymill Park/ /Murlawirrapurka (Park 14) and in a section of Rundle Road, Rundle Street and East Terrace.

To facilitate the road closure, it is proposed that all the on-street parking spaces on the closed section of the roads will be changed to ‘No Stopping Sunday for the duration of the road closure. ‘
