Project background and information

The former LeCornu site in North Adelaide, 88 O’Connell Street has been vacant and undeveloped for many years. A number of development proposals have been presented during this time, however none of them have been built.

A new proposal from the Makris Group was announced in December 2014. As this development proposal exceeds $10M, the Development Assessment Commission (DAC) is the relevant Planning Authority to assess the application.

To help inform Council’s response to the State Government, we sought additional feedback on their proposal. The proposal is going before the Development Assessment Commission (DAC) for a decision in June 2015. The community response to the engagement undertaken by Council was forwarded to DAC along with Council’s comments about the development.
