Will access to Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi, Ityamai-itpina (Park 15) and Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka be affected during the event?

Access to areas of Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi will be restricted from Friday 13 November to Sunday 16 November 2014 to event ticket holders and competitors only.

To allow for the secure stabling of competition horses and camping for the riders and grooms a fenced area in the south eastern section of Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi will be in place from Monday 10 November to Monday 17 November 2014.

On Saturday 15 November 2014 access to the parks listed above will be restricted to event ticket holders only.
Alternative routes around the fenced site on Saturday 15 November 2014 will be via Rundle Road, Dequetteville Terrace, East Terrace and the central shared east-west pathway through Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi.

How will the Park Lands be protected during their stay?

The AI3DE event organisers will be responsible for minimising impacts on the Park Lands by following Adelaide City Council’s Standard Operating Procedures for Events in the Park Lands.

The event will be responsible for restoring the park to its original condition at the end of the event. The event organisers have committed to undertaking the following Park Lands protection measures:

    • Vehicles to keep to roads were possible and minimise vehicles movements on grassed areas.
    • Training and practice areas for horses will be controlled by dedicated stewards.
    • Sawdust will be used in the stable areas and will be removed post event.
    • Bars and Kitchens will use the surface protection system Pro Floor.
    • Parking on site will only be on non-grassed areas and only in Adelaide City Council approved areas.

Is parking available at the event site?

No public parking is provided within the event site; however there is some parking provided in controlled hard surface areas of Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi for officials and volunteers. All parking plans will require approval by Council and will have vehicle management plans in place.

Will it cost to attend the event?

The event has a mixture of free and ticketed elements. The first day of the event on Thursday 13 November 2014 is a free entry day with all other days having an entry fee for the different stages. There will be a Friday evening twilight event with free entry for the public.
Ticket prices vary from $10 to $195.

I have already seen a poster or advertisement for this event. Has it already been approved?

Approval for an event requiring public consultation is only given after the consultation period has concluded and Council has had the opportunity to review any submissions.

Adelaide City Council discourages any event from promotions prior to Council approval.
In some instances, particularly national tours, there is a need for events to announce dates in each capital city. This however does not constitute Council approval for the event.

Can I expect noise where I live?

The event will have commentary on each day of the event. The sound system will be positioned for Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi around the main arena and on Saturday in Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka around the Lake.

Live music will be played inside marquees on the Friday and Saturday night in Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi. Stages and speakers will be orientated away from the nearest noise sensitive areas.

A letter box drop to residents two weeks prior will detail the event and complaint process. As this is an equestrian event, the noise levels are kept low.

Are there alternative ways to provide my feedback?
