Consultation has concluded
Have your say on the event application for 'Archie's Clubhouse'
Project update
On 28 August 2018 Council noted the results of the public consultation and approved the Archie's Clubhouse eventto operate beyond midnight and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights during the event period. The event providers felt the event went well. Following the event the pontoon was removed from the Torrens.
Background
The City of Adelaide (CoA) hosts a wide range of events every year and invites event organisers (including interstate and international) to consider holding their event in the Adelaide Park Lands that surround the City.
CoA also has a priority action to host and support events that will bring activation to the City.
Project Information
We have received an application to stage an event on the Pontoon located on the River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari. The event, ‘Archie’s Clubhouse’ is proposed to take place from Friday 9 November to Saturday 22 December 2018.
The event set up is proposed to begin on Monday 5 November 2018 with pull down to be completed by Thursday 27 December 2018.
The proposed event includes:
An interactive art exhibition
Local Adelaide music
Stand-up comedy
Cult movies
Local food outlets
Bar
Archie’s Clubhouse will be licenced for 460 people at any one time. The application proposes the following opening hours:
Wed & Thurs: 5.00pm to 12 midnight; and
Fri & Sat: 5.00pm to 3.00am
We invite responses from you to gauge whether there is support for the proposed event to proceed, and whether there are any other measures that could be put in place to improve the running of the proposed event and minimise any impacts to the Park Lands and Community.
