What is the Adelaide Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon?

The Adelaide Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is a non-competitive, community engagement program that assists children between the ages of 7 and 15 to develop self-esteem, encouraging kids to get fit and active while having fun with their friends. The TRYathlon is conducted along the lines of an adult triathlon (swim, ride and run in one event).

How will stakeholders be notified of this event?

All residents and businesses residing in the surrounding area would be notified of the upcoming event via a letterbox drop organised by the event organiser in March 2020. Included in the letter will be an event hotline telephone number. 

This event hotline telephone number is provided by the event organiser should a member of the public wish to lodge any feedback or concerns during the event. 

Who can I contact during the event if I have any concerns regarding the event?

You can use the hotline number to contact the event organiser during the event. Any member of the public can use this number to provide their feedback to the event organiser. It is the responsibility of the event organiser to consider all feedback provided and take any necessary actions to remedy the issue. The event hotline phone number will be operated for the duration of the event.

Will residents be able to access properties on Barton Terrace West during the road closure?

Access to properties on Barton Terrace West will remain accessible during the road closure via O’Connell Street only. Barton Terrace West will not be accessible via Jeffcott Street during the road closure. The event organisers will ensure the footpaths on Barton Terrace West are kept clear to provide clear access to existing premises.

Mother's Day Classic

What is Mother’s Day Classic?

The Mother’s Day Classic is a fun run / walk to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Research and to provide a fitness activity for participants.  There is a 2.1km walk, a 4.3km walk and a 7.4km walk/run.

Yes, while the road will be closed to vehicular traffic, pedestrians will still be able to access the businesses on War Memorial Drive, Sir Edward Smith Avenue, Victoria Drive, Jolly’s Lane & Frome Road and the event organisers will ensure the footpaths are kept clear to provide clear access to existing premises. 

Will commercial vehicles be able to service businesses within the road closures?

During the road closure no vehicles (authorised vehicles exempt) will be able to access the closed portion of road.

Race 3 of the Winter Duathlon Series

What is Race 3 of the Winter Duathlon Series?

A duathlon is a two-sport athletic event that consists of running and cycling in three stages (run-bike-run). Race 3 of the Winter Duathlon Series will consist of three races, Duathlon Championships, Enticer, and a Kids Race, followed by presentations at the Red Ochre Grill on War Memorial Drive. This event is also the SA State Duathlon Championships, and a 2021 World Qualification Event.
