We want your ideas and suggestions for informal recreation opportunities that we can provide for the community in Golden Wattle Park/Mirnu Wirra (Park 21W).

Project Update: February 2020.

Council and the Adelaide Park Lands Authority have now approved the concept plan for Golden Wattle Park / Mirnu Wirra (Park 21W) which was revised following consideration of the community engagement outcomes and further discussions with the sporting users of Park 21W. The key changes to the concept plan are:

  • Additional facilities to support informal use of the park including a fitness loop, nature play, shade and picnic amenities and improved lighting of the Sugar Gum Avenue
  • Irrigation of the community oval
  • Re-establishment of the former wattle grove
  • Relocation of the education hub adjacent to the key biodiversity area
  • Increased tree planting around sports fields
  • Proposed new clubroom building relocated closer to the western edge of the park
  • Carpark relocated to the western edge of the park and reduction of parking spaces
  • Conservation buffer zone increased to protect the vegetation in the south east portion of the park

The City of Adelaide will soon be consulting on the revised chapter of the Community Land Management Plan for Park 21W which has been updated to align with the recently approved concept plan and the Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy.
