Background

In February 2017, the Adelaide Park Lands Authority (APLA) and Council provided in-principle approval for a commercial helipad to be located in the Adelaide Park Lands in Park 27 west of Morphett Street Bridge, between the rail corridor and the River Torrens (see Images 1 & 2).

Community consultation for the lease proposal took place over a three-week period in June/July 2017 in line with the Local Government Act 1999 and the City of Adelaide’s Public Communication and Consultation Policy. If, following consideration of the feedback from consultation, Council chooses to support the amendment to the CLMP, the CLMP will be amended to reflect the proposed use. The proposal will then proceed to the next stage of required approvals and lease negotiations.

Alternatively, if Council does not support the amendment to the CLMP, the project will not proceed in this location.
