How will the smart technology work?

Parking sensor devices will be installed in, on, or above, the road surface at on-street parking spaces across the City. The sensor will detect when a vehicle arrives and how long it stays. This information will then be automatically sent to the smart parking app showing available parks and those that are occupied.

Do I need to use the app for on-street parks that don’t require a ticket?

No. However, these parks will still have a sensor so you can still receive a reminder that the park is about to expire, if you register at the time of parking.

Will I still be able to pay for a park using a ticket machine?

Yes. All existing ticket machines will remain in use.

When will the Smart Parking app be available to use?

The customer app is currently in the development stage. Information will be released as the development progresses.
