How will this affect the users of Tampawardli (Park 24)?

    It is anticipated this lease agreement and the already established uses associated with the sporting club will not change the way this park is used or accessed.
     
    The lease agreement seeks to secure a longer tenure and ensure community sport continues to be played in Tampawardli (Park 24).

    Will the Western District Amateur Athletic Club continue using Tampawardli (Park 24)?

    Yes, the Western District Amateur Athletics Club are an ancillary party to the proposed lease agreement.

    What change will be seen?

    There will be no change to the size of the licensed area associated with this lease.

    There may be minor disruptions during the demolition and subsequent construction phase of a new multipurpose community sports hub.

    What about the new multipurpose community sports hub?

    The proposed new building for Park 24 has not been approved by Council and is only a concept at this stage. The building design will need to follow Council’s Development Assessment process whereby the development application will be assessed and a report will be presented to the Council Assessment Panel for consideration. If Planning Consent is granted, ACFC will obtain Building Rules Consent with the aim of gaining all relevant statutory approvals.

    What are the fees and will they be discounted over the 21-year period?

    The lease and licence fees that are associated with this lease agreement are determined in accordance with the Adelaide Park Lands Leasing and Licencing Policy and Guidelines which can be found at cityofadelaide.com.au.

    No discount is being offered to the lessee in exchange for the proposed lease term.
