Give us your thoughts on an application for a permit from Tennis SA to close a section of War Memorial Drive in order to stage the Adelaide International Tennis in January 2022.
Update
Following consultation the permit for the proposed closure of War Memorial Drive was approved. The Adelaide International Tennis closure was undertaken between 1 Jan – 16 Jan 2022. The closure was extended a week and approved under CEO delegation.
The event was a success and delivered an international event to our City. The closure allowed for safe pedestrian movement from the Memorial Tennis Centre to their event hub in Pinky Flat. The additional space along the road also supported its COVID Management Plan approved by SA Health and allowed for additional social distancing space.
