Project Information

We would like your feedback on a request from Gluttony Food & Wine Festival Pty Ltd to change the Gluttony event footprint in Rymill Park/ Murlawirrapurka (Rymill) for the event in 2021 and 2022. For more information see below:

Information PackProposed New Event Footprint

Background

Gluttony Food & Wine Festival Pty Ltd has a Multi-Year Event Licence Agreement for the use of Rymill Park/ Murlawirrapurka (Rymill) to deliver the Gluttony event during February and March in 2021 and 2022. The event has been held in Rymill during the Adelaide Fringe Festival since 2011. Since then , it has grown from a one tent food and wine event into one of the largest Arts venue hubs of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, hosting 165 shows and 23 predominantly local vendors in 2020.

The Gluttony event footprint needs to change from what was used in 2020 to work around the site of the new Quentin Kenihan Inclusive Playspace (QKIP) , which is scheduled to be constructed ahead of the 2021 Gluttony event. The new footprint has been proposed to enable the event to retain its current offering and produce a new experience centred around the lake, whilst still maintaining public access to the lake, the new Playspace and kiosk.

The proposed new event footprint (the boundary is marked in red) represents a significant change to what was originally defined in the Multi-Year Event Licence Agreement for Gluttony. We are consulting with the community on the proposed new event footprint to help identify impacts that Gluttony Food & Wine Festival Pty Ltd and the Council should consider before a final decision is made regarding the event footprint for 2021 and 2022.

Consultation is open from 1 June 2020. All submissions must be received by 5pm. Monday, 22 June 2020.
