Will access to Bonython Park/Tulya Wodli be affected during the event?

For the purposes of public safety access to the lease area will be restricted during set up and pull down, however pathways will remain open at all times.

During the event period access to the lease area will be restricted to the event opening hours of 3.00pm to midnight daily, however this will not affect access to the adjacent paths.

Will it cost to attend the event?

The Adelaide Christmas Tree Festival is a free entry event.

How will the Park Lands be protected during their stay?

In addition to the standard requirements under the event lease, The Adelaide Christmas Tree Festival will be responsible for minimising impacts on the Park Lands by following Adelaide City Council’s Standard Operating Procedures for Events in the Park Lands.  The event will be responsible for restoring the park at the end of the event.

The event organiser has also committed to hand watering during the event to help maintain the grass in the lease area.

Can I expect noise where I live?

The Adelaide Christmas Tree Festival will be required to comply with Council’s Noise Mitigation Standard Operating Procedures.  However due to the nature of the event, it is not expected that it will generate a large amount of noise.  The predicted noise levels are within accepted guidelines for an event of this nature.

Is parking available at the event site?

Public transport will be promoted as the best way to attend this event, with the tram service adjacent on Port Road.

It is proposed that UPark will operate a car park on the concourse (see attached map for location) during peak event days on Friday and Saturday from 6.00pm – midnight and on Sunday from 6.00pm – 10.00pm throughout the event period.

I have already seen a poster or advertisement for this event. Has it already been approved?

Approval for an event requiring public consultation is only given after the consultation period has concluded and Council has had the opportunity to review any submissions.

Council discourages any event from promotions prior to Council approval.
