Who do I contact for more information?

We have developed a Fact Sheet and FAQ Sheet to help answer some of the more common questions we are likely to be asked. You can view these documents in the 'Related Document' section.

What happens to my feedback and submission?

After considering all submissions, Council finalises its local heritage list.

This list and all the submissions and Council’s responses to the submissions, are then sent to the Minister for Planning for his approval. The Minister then refers all objections to the independent Local Heritage Advisory Committee, which considers the objections and provides objectors with the opportunity to speak at one of their meetings. If you lodge an objection you will be contacted by the Committee.

The Committee subsequently advises the Minister of its findings. The Minister then makes a decision on the listings and authorises the final version of the Development Plan Amendment.

Lastly the Minister refers the proposed listings to the Environment, Resources and Development Committee of Parliament for its review. This must occur within 28 days of the Minister gazetting the Development Plan Amendment.

More information about these processes can be obtained by contacting the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.
