A carbon neutral Adelaide is a healthy, liveable city, where our citizens and businesses thrive in a low carbon economy.
Join the thousands of citizens around the world who are actively supporting their cities to reduce impact on climate. Everyone has a part to play in reducing emissions. Collectively government, community and businesses need to work together towards carbon neutrality.
Thank you for your interest and for taking the time to complete our survey or add your voice using our Virtual Whiteboard.
Community engagement has now closed for this project and the team are currently reviewing all the feedback we have received through the whiteboard, survey, workshops and forums. We will be using all the information received to inform our new action plan. Stay updated by signing up to this project using the sign up link on the right hand side of this page.
Background
The climate is changing, and the science is clearer than ever on the ways that human activities are negatively impacting the world around us. Last year the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released its latest five-year report on the physical impacts of climate change. You can see a summary video on the right hand side of this page or by clicking here.
The City of Adelaide has committed to playing our part in the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, whilst fostering economic prosperity, liveability, and wellbeing, particularly within the context of our recovery from COVID. For us, this predominantly means more energy efficient buildings generating and using renewable electricity, a shift to low emission transport, and reducing waste to landfill.
