Have your say on the staging of events in the City of Adelaide.
Update - 16 March 2020
We regret to inform you that The Winter Village Adelaide in Pinky Flat has been cancelled until further notice. Please re-visit this page for further updates.
The City of Adelaide has received the following event applications that require public consultation before they can be forwarded to Council for consideration:
- AVC Operations Pty Ltd to stage ‘The Winter Village Adelaide’ in Pinky Flat (Part of Tarntanya Wama (Park 26)) from May to August 2020;
Before formal approval can be granted, Council has a legislative commitment under the Adelaide Park Lands Event Management Plan 2016-2020 to undertake 21 days of public consultation for this proposal festival as it would occupy a significant portion of a Park for more than four weeks (including bump in and out), and is a new event application that could have significant impact on the Park Lands.
We would like your feedback to gauge if there is support for the event to proceed, and whether there are any other measures that could be put in place to facilitate a successful event with minimal impacts on the surrounding environment.

- East End Cellars to hold the East End Wine Down event in Vardon Avenue on Saturday 21 March 2020;
We would like your feedback on the application to grant a temporary closure for Vardon Avenue for the purpose of the East End Wine Down taking place on Saturday 21 March 2020.
Before formal approval can be granted, Council has a legislative commitment under the Local Government Act 1999 to carry out public consultation for events applications which propose to alter the purpose of a road, by using a public road for business purposes before they can be forwarded to Council for consideration.

Background
The City of Adelaide provides a fantastic backdrop for a huge variety of events each year. From major ones attracting international and interstate visitors through to small-scale community events, the streets, laneways and Park Lands are being activated more frequently beyond their traditional use to be temporarily transformed as creative and interactive spaces.
In some instances there are events that may require permission to use the Park Lands for prolonged periods, or which when staged, may temporarily require the closure of a part of a road, which may impede the flow of traffic in that vicinity. In instances such as these, amongst others, the City of Adelaide is required to publicly consult its communities to determine how the granting of permission to stage events may impact on them.
