What is a Community Land Management Plan (CLMP)?

Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1999, the Park Lands CLMP) outlines Council’s plans for management of its community land.

Community land (under section 193 of the Local Government Act 1999 (the ‘Act’) ‘community land’ includes all local government land (except roads) that is owned by a council or is under a council’s care, control or management).

Under section 196 of the Act a council must prepare and adopt a ‘Community Land Management Plan’ (CLMP) for its community land. A CLMP provides a framework within which the Council can develop a balanced response to current opportunities and address future pressures with respect to the community land and how it is used within its local government area.

A CLMP must identify the community land to which it relates, and the purpose for which that land is held by the council. A CLMP must also state the council’s objectives, policies (if any) and proposals for the management of the relevant community land.

What is Council seeking feedback on?

Council is seeking feedback on the event management approaches taken to mitigate the effects of each event that is not covered by the Adelaide Park Lands Event Management Plan. The event planning considerations have been included in Attachment A with the proposed corresponding event management approaches.

We invite responses from stakeholders on relevant events to gauge support for the events to proceed and whether there are any other measures that could be put in place to lessen the impacts of the events.

Where can I find more information about each event being consulted on and the overall programming for the next five years?

Refer to Attachment A for the events that the City of Adelaide is seeking feedback on and information about the event planning considerations.

Attachment B shows the proposed programming of events in relevant Adelaide Park Lands from January 2018- December 2022 as at July 2017. It is worth noting that event bookings are accepted on a daily basis and programming is constantly updated.

How will events be processed that are received outside of the multi-year event licence expression of interest opportunity?

If event applications are received outside of the multi-year event licence expression of interest opportunity and require public consultation, further public consultation will occur to consider the new applications.

How do I provide my feedback?

There are a number of ways in which you can provide feedback:

Submission Form

Complete the Submission Form to provide your feedback. Submissions must include the name and residential address of the respondent, and will be included in a report to Council which will be publicly available. For events that have a legislative requirement to consult, including your name and residential address is mandatory.

Online / Website

Council has a dedicated website that provides an opportunity for quick and efficient online feedback. Visit yoursay.cityofadelaide.com.au for information about the project and online ways to provide your comments. Alternatively comments can be emailed to yoursay@cityofadelaide.com.au

What happens to my feedback?

Submissions will be used to guide the event’s planning and the approaches to specific event considerations will be amended where appropriate.

How do I know my feedback has been received?

All feedback forms, submissions or correspondence will be acknowledged either by email or in writing so that you know that your comments/feedback have been received.
