Consultation has concluded
Project Update
Community consultation on the proposed service fees for on-street and off-street (UPark) electric vehicle charging services was conducted August - September 2017.
At its meeting of 12 December 2017 Council noted the summary of the community feedback and approved the proposed draft Electric Vehicle Charging Service Fees Schedule.
The City of Adelaide seeks your feedback on the proposed service fees for on-street and off-street (UPark) electric vehicle charging services.
The City of Adelaide Strategic Plan 2016 -2020 positions Adelaide to be a smart, green, liveable and creativecity. The city is aiming to become the world's first carbon neutral city and a leader in environmental change. Under the Plan we will "provide a range of incentives for the use of electric-powered and low emission vehicles within the city".
Council has already taken a number of actions to encourage electric vehicles (EVs) in the city. An important driver for electric vehicle ownership will be the convenience, stability and lower cost of home or destination charging.
To attract more EVs to our city we will be installing 34 EV charging stations in the City of Adelaide UParks and near the Adelaide Central Bus Station. We will also be installing up to 8 on-street EV charging points in up to 4 locations.
We seek your feedback on the proposed EV Charging Service Fees to ensure we provide a level of incentive that will be effective and consistent with community expectations. Interim fees are currently in operation. Council will consider feedback and establish on-going fees by 30 June 2018.
