Project Information and background
The City of Adelaide seeks your feedback on locations that we are considering for on-street electric vehicle charging stations, a key action in our 2016 -2020 Strategic Plan.
The City of Adelaide Strategic Plan 2016-2020 positions Adelaide to be a smart, green, liveable and creative city. The city is aiming to become the world’s first carbon neutral city and a leader in environmental change. Under the Plan we will “provide a range of incentives for the use of electric-powered and low emission vehicles within the city”.
Council is committed to provide a range of incentives for the use of electric and low-emission vehicles in the city, including EV charging infrastructure.
Preliminary infrastructure and design investigations have identified 9 potential locations from which up to 4 locations will be selected to install on-street electric vehicle charging stations. Council has given approval to consult on the following locations.
Up to 4 locations will be selected by Council following this consultation process. Each of the locations will include 2 parking spaces that will be serviced by a dual port EV charging station and designated as Permit Zone - Electric Vehicles Only.
