Is this a City of Adelaide Project?

No. This is a State Government Project. The State Heritage Unit of the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) is managing the process for the South Australian  Heritage Council.

The City of Adelaide will work with DEWNR during the consultation process. Please click here  to provide feedback directly to DEWNR.

What is the purpose of this project?

The purpose of this project is to assess the heritage value of the Adelaide Park Lands as a whole, potentially including the city layout and streets.

The “Adelaide Park Lands and City Layout” is already on the National Heritage List nominated by the City of Adelaide, and one of the first places to be listed, in November 2008.

While a number of individual places within the Park Lands are State and Local Heritage Places, the Park Lands, as a whole, have not been assessed for their heritage value at a State level.
