The Adelaide City Council has received an application for the use of Bonython Park / Tulya Wodli to enable the Lennon Bros Circus to take place from Thursday 20 September 2012 to Sunday 14 October 2012.  It is anticipated that the event will attract approximately 500 people per performance.

Lennon Bros Circus is a family run circus and incorporates a combination of human and animal acts.  Animals performing include a mix of domestic and exotic animals (Alpacas, Camels, Dogs, Donkeys, Lions, Monkeys and Ponies.)

Lennon Bros Circus is required to comply with the Animal Welfare Act 1985, the Animal and Plant Control (Agricultural Protection and Other Purposes) Act 1986 and the South Australian Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals in Circuses 1997.

The event site comprises a central big top structure with support marquees.  Support vehicles including large trucks, service vehicles and mobile accommodation are required to remain on site.  Circus personnel will remain overnight to maintain animal welfare and site security.

Lennon Bros Circus will provide housing for animals within a secure fenced area.

A public car park will be operated by UPark on the Concourse d’Elegance (northern end of Bonython Park / Tulya Wodli) during performance times.

The proposed show times will be a combination of 11:00 am, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm daily with a maximum of three shows per day.  All performances will be closed no later than 9.30 pm each night.
