Why are we consulting on this?

Lounders Boatshed Café Pty Ltd currently leases a Park Lands building in Red Gum Park/Karrawirra (Park 12) with access from Victoria Drive. They are seeking to renew their lease agreement with The City of Adelaide for a 15-year period as part of a capital upgrade to their leased building. A draft proposed lease agreement with Lounders Boatshed Cafe has been prepared.

Under the Local Government Act 1999, Councils are required to formally undertake public consultation for a lease or licence over community land that is greater than 5 years. See below for more information:

  • Lease agreement update

    The consultation on the lease agreement was well supported by the community and the lease agreement progressed to being placed before both Houses of Parliament in September 2022. The lease was later finalised between both parties and commenced on 1 January 2023.
