Overview of 2018 Consultation for 'Skating At Victoria Square'

From 6 February 2018 to February 2018 we invited you to 'have your say' on the staging of 'Skating at Victoria Square' - winter ice-skating festival that was proposed for June/July 2018 in Victoria Square/ Tarntanyangga.

Project Information

The proposed ‘Skating At Victoria Square’ festival would include a range of activation including:

Ice Skating Rink; A Real Ice Slide Inflatable slide and/or jumping castle Snow Play Experience; Quality food outlets and licensed bar.

Feedback was requested from you to gauge whether there is support for the proposed festival to proceed, and whether there are any other measures that could be put in place to facilitate a successful event.

To support you to make an informed decision we provided:

A Consultation Pack containing all relevant information and an opportunity to provide feedback
A description of the 'Event Considerations'.

We collated all feedback. The results of the public consultation and the Council Report, (including the event organiser's response) were presented at the Council meeting of 27 March 2018.

Council endorsed the proposal proceeding. Skating At Victoria Square ran from 29 June - 22 July 2018. Click here for further information regarding June/July 2018 session times.
