The on-street trading permit provides an opportunity for businesses & entrepreneurs to activate and co-create vibrant city places and spaces with cultural and creative activities and events.
In 2012 a decision was made to no longer issue on-street trading permits. We recently investigated and then consulted on the option of reinstating the on-street trading permit with the inclusion of extra clauses in the permit conditions.

A report was presented to Council on Tuesday 21 January 2014. Council have endorsed the changes to the permit system, and onstreet trading permits will be re-instated as soon as possible.
