Park Lands Events Management Plan - Stage 1

Council sought your feedback to help us create a Management Plan for Park Lands Events. This document will be a guide to help us plan and manage events in the Park Lands over the next 4 years.

Background

Events in the Park Lands come in all sizes and types, from small weddings in Himeji Gardens to 20,000 people attending a New Year’s Eve event in Elder Park.

The community has told us through the recent Shape the Park Lands consultation, that they want more vibrancy and events in the Park Lands. Council needs to ensure that a growth in events is managed effectively to maximise the enjoyment of patrons, support success for event organisers and ensure that the right event type is placed in the right location.

The purpose of this project is to develop a Park Lands Events Management Plan, in place of the current Events in the Park Lands Policy and Events in the Park Lands Operating Guideline. This new Plan will provide a single guiding document for Council, event organisers and the community, to clarify how we manage events in the Park Lands. It will include guidelines for event organisers and an improved set of site maps to better match events with sites.
