Will access to Tarntanya Wama (Park 26) – The Event Space be affected during the event?

    Access to Tarntanya Wama (Park 26) – The Event Space will be restricted for park users from Tuesday 25 November to Friday 19 December 2014.
    Access along the riverbank footpath will be maintained at all times.

    The driveway and footpath in front of Adelaide Rowing Club will be restricted from 4.00pm each day between Friday 12 December and Tuesday 16 December 2014. Access will be maintained at all other times.

    The eastern footpath running between the riverbank footpath and the promenade stairs will be restricted from Tuesday 25 November to Friday 19 December 2014. If required, disabled access can be provided along this footpath at any time, with a security escort.

    During the dark period between Wednesday 3 December and Monday 8 December 2014 the reduced footprint of the event site will allow for general public access to the majority of the event lawn, unless additional corporate functions are facilitated on Friday 5 December and/or Saturday 6 December 2014.
    There are no road closures required for this event.

    Will it cost to attend the event?

    The event will be free all day on Thursday 11, Sunday 14, Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 December 2014.

    The event will be free prior to 7.00pm on Friday 12 December and Saturday 13 December 2014. After 7.00pm a $5 entry fee will be applicable.

    How will the Park Lands be protected during their stay?

    In addition to the standard requirements under the event lease, Royal Raj Racquet Club will be responsible for minimising impacts on the Park Lands by following Adelaide City Council’s Standard Operating Procedures for Events in the Park Lands. The event will be responsible for restoring the park to its original condition at the end of the event.

    Specifically, Royal Raj Racquet Club has committed to undertaking the following Park Lands protection measures:

    • Temporary flooring to reduce impact of foot traffic.
    • Temporary surfaces to reduce impact from vehicle movement.
    • Hand watering of the event lawn throughout the site occupation.

    Can I expect noise where I live?

    Yes – Royal Raj Racquet Club is required to abide by Adelaide City Council’s Noise Mitigation Standard Operating Procedures for this event. As part of this the event organiser is required to provide a Noise Mitigation Plan.

    Residents and stakeholders in surrounding areas will be notified by the event organiser via a mail drop at least two weeks prior to the event detailing the event times and contact information for complaints or queries.

    Is parking available at the event site?

    No. On-site parking is not provided for this event. There are a number of multi-storey car parks in the vicinity that service the Riverbank Precinct. Public transport is also available in close proximity to this event.

    I have already seen a poster or advertisement for this event. Has it already been approved?

    Approval for an event requiring public consultation is only given after the consultation period has concluded and Council has had the opportunity to review any submissions and the application.

    Adelaide City Council discourages any event from promotions prior to Council approval.
