    Why do we need to change?

    Council aims to provide effective and appropriate waste management service for residents of the City.

    Will there be an increased cost?

    No, the pilot will not require any additional cost to the Garden East Community for waste management.

    What support will Adelaide City Council provide for the pilot?

    Council will provide supporting information for the Garden East Community by conducting an information night and other communication activities to support residents and we will give residents in-home materials to help recycle more conveniently.

    What do I need to do?

    •    Familiarise yourself with the proposed changes which are explained in this Information Sheet. Buildings which have a bin storage area will also have signage explaining the changes;
    •    Attend an Information Night (details below) to find out more details and learn more about recycling;
    •    Obtain a free yellow recycling basket and an organics and food recycling kitchen caddy with compostable bin liners to use in your apartment.  These will be available at the information night and at the City Realty Office, Ebenezer Place, as well as from Council’s customer service centre located at 25 Pirie Street; and
    •    If you run out of compostable bags for the organics and food recycling kitchen caddy, you can get more from Council.
