Project update

We will produce an annual report on the outcomes of the Action Plan in July 2020 ,2021 and 2022. The Safer City Policy and Action Plan will be reviewed in 2023. We are currently working on projects within the action plan around women’s safety, audits, training in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) for staff and the Welcoming Spaces for Young People project.

Project Information

The City of Adelaide is developing a new Safer City Policy and Safer City Action Plan (2019-2023). We are seeking feedback from the community and key stakeholders on the proposed outcomes and principles that will help shape the Policy and guide Council’s actions aimed at improving city safety. We are also seeking input about community led safety ideas for possible inclusion in the Safer City Action Plan (2019-2023).

Background

The Safer City Policy (2013) and Safer City Strategy (2013-2017) are both due for review. The attached Community Safety Discussion Paper provides context, data and case studies to inform this review as well as proposed outcomes and principles for inclusion in the revised Policy.

This consultation seeks feedback on the proposed outcomes and principles. It also looks for ideas to include in the Safer City Action Plan (2019-2023) which will provide a tangible link between the new Policy and service delivery. The feedback received from the community and key stakeholders will inform the draft Safer City Policy and Safer City Action Plan (2019-2023) which will be presented to Council for endorsement. See the Consultation Pack for further information.
