Will access to Rymill Park/ Murlawirrapurka be affected during the event?

For the purposes of public safety access to the lease area will be restricted. However, this event will not restrict access to any footpaths, bicycle tracks or roadways within the park except for short periods during the bump-in and bump-out period. The event will be required to implement an appropriate traffic management plan to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists at this time.

How will the Park Lands be protected during their stay?

In addition to the standard requirements under the event lease, Entertainment Marketing Services Pty Ltd will be responsible for minimising impacts on the Park Lands by following Council’s Standard Operating Procedures for Events in the Park Lands. The event will be responsible for restoring the park to its original condition at the end of the event.

Spiegelworld EMPIRE has committed to undertaking procedures during the event to help maintain the grass in the lease area. This includes the use of track matting during bump-in and bump-out and hand watering the site.

Can I expect noise where I live?

Some minor noise is anticipated. Predicted noise levels are within accepted guidelines for an event of this nature.
Spiegelworld EMPIRE is required to abide by a Noise Mitigation plan for this event. Residents and businesses in surrounding areas will be notified of the event times and contact information for complaints or queries at least two weeks prior to the event via mail.

I have already seen a poster or advertisement for this event. Has it already been approved?

Approval for an event requiring public consultation is only given after the consultation period has concluded and Council has had the opportunity to review any submissions.

Council discourages any event from promotions prior to our approval.

In some instances, particularly national tours, there is a need for events to announce dates in each capital city. This however does not constitute Council approval for the event.

Is there an alternative way to provide my feedback?
