Will access to Bonython Park/Tulya Wodli be affected during the event?

Access will be restricted during the set up and pull down phases of the Stereosonic music festival from Monday 26 November 2012 to Thursday 6 December 2012.

Alternative pedestrian and cyclist routes will be provided and sign posted in advance of these closures.

On the event day for Stereosonic marshals will be positioned at key detour points to inform path users of the alternative routes.

The cycle path along the Southern side of the River Torrens through Bonython Park/Tulya Wodli will be available throughout this period apart from the event day, Saturday 1 December 2012.

Will it cost to attend the event?

Stereosonic is a ticketed event with the average ticket cost set at approximately $125.

How will the Park Lands be protected during their stay?

In addition to the standard requirements under the event lease, Stereosonic will be responsible for minimising impacts on the Park Lands by following Adelaide City Council’s Standard Operating Procedures for Events in the Park Lands.

The event will be responsible for restoring the park to its original condition at the end of the event.

Specifically Stereosonic has committed to undertaking the following Park Lands protection measures:
•    Use of track matting in high traffic areas
•    Fencing around trees
•    Internal traffic management plan to be developed
•    Use of Pro Floor surface protection system  in high use areas

Can I expect noise where I live?

Stereosonic is required to abide by a Noise Mitigation plan for this event.  Residents in surrounding areas will be notified by the event organiser via a mail drop at least two weeks prior to the event, the letter will detail the event times and contact information for complaints or queries.

Adelaide City Council will also be appointing independent acoustic engineers to ensure compliance with acceptable noise levels.

Is parking available at the event site?

No public car parking is provided for this event, event organisers actively promote public transport.

The event site is adjacent to several tram stops and event organisers arrange additional tram services on the event day.

The old netball courts in Bonython Park/Tulya Wodli are utilised by the event organisers for management and crew parking.

I have already seen a poster or advertisement for this event. Has it already been approved?

Approval for an event requiring public consultation is only given after the consultation period has concluded and Council has had the opportunity to review any submissions.

We discourage any event from promotions prior to Council approval.

In some instances, particularly national tours, there is a need for events to announce dates in each capital city.  This however does not constitute Council approval for the event.
