Who do I contact for more information?

For any enquiries, please call Katherine Russell, Senior Park Lands Officer, on 8203 7485 or by email at K.Russell@adelaidecitycouncil.com

Where did the direction for each Park come from?

The Management Directions are based on the Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy: Towards 2020 and on other existing planning documents, such as Council’s Adelaide Park Lands Landscape Master Plan and the State Government’s 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide.

Why is the new Park Lands CLMP so slim compared to the previous Park Lands CLMPs?

When the previous set of Park Lands CLMPs was developed between 2003-2008, much of the existing Park Lands strategy and policy did not exist.  Therefore the documents had to be much more comprehensive.

None of that detailed information has been lost – it is now included either in Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy: Towards 2020, the Adelaide Park Lands Landscape Master Plan or other strategy and policy documents, or in the detailed Cultural Landscape Assessments or the Kaurna Heritage Report, most of which can be accessed electronically at Council’s website.

I don’t want to read the whole documents – what should I focus on?

These are comprehensive but simplified documents.  The key parts are the Desired Future Character Statement in each Chapter, as well as the Challenges/Opportunities and the Management Directions, which are all on one page.  An aerial photo of the Park or group of Parks is included to make it easy to understand.  You can also just choose those chapters which interest you – those parks which you use or care about.

    Why are there three sections?

The Park Lands cover over 760 hectares and there is a lot going on.  The Park Lands have been divided into three Sections to make it easier to read the documents.  The sections are determined by geographical areas so it is easier to focus on the area you are interested in.
