Written submissions are requested in relation to this use of the Park Lands.

Complete the Submission Form to provide your feedback. Submissions must include the name and residential address of the respondent, and will be included in a report to Council which will be publically available.

What happens to my feedback?

All submissions will be collated and included in a report to Council to assist in making a decision regarding the event lease.

A report will be presented to the City Culture and Community Services Committee on 2 October 2012 followed by the Council meeting on 9 October 2012.

How do I know my feedback has been received?

All submissions or correspondence will be acknowledged either by email or by mail so that you know your comments/feedback has been received.

Will access to Rundle Park / Kadlitpinna be affected during the event?

Access to the park will be restricted for the duration of the event’s lease.
During the set up and pull down period the central pathway will remain open when possible and traffic marshals will be on-site to ensure pedestrian and cyclist safety. Pre warning signage will be erected to notify pedestrians to any access changes.

Once the event has opened, during peak pedestrian and cyclist transit times the central pathway will remain open. When pathways are blocked an alternate route will be indicated.

Will it cost to attend the event?

There is free entry into the event precinct however performances are ticketed at various prices.

How will the Park Lands be protected during their stay?

In addition to the standard requirements under the event lease, The Garden of Unearthly Delights will be responsible for minimising impacts on the Park Lands by following Adelaide City Council’s Standard Operating Procedures for Events in the Park Lands.

The event organiser will be responsible for restoring the park at the end of the event.

Specifically The Garden of Unearthly Delights has committed to undertaking the following Park Lands protection measures:
•    Developing and implementing a Rundle Park Remediation Management Plan and Internal Traffic Management Plan
•    The use of vehicles with low turf impact where possible
•    Defined areas where event vehicles will not be permitted
•    The use of track matting or temporary floor surfaces to reduce impact on grass areas
•    Watering schedule throughout the event duration

Can I expect noise where I live?

The Garden of Unearthly Delights is required to abide by a Noise Mitigation plan for this event. Residents and businesses in surrounding areas will be notified by the event organiser via mail at least two weeks prior to the event detailing the event times and contact information for complaints or queries. 

Is parking available at the event site?

No on-site parking is provided for this event, however many off-street options exist nearby. Public transport in the vicinity of this event is also available. In addition Adelaide Fringe will run its free evening city bus loop which will transport people to Fringe venues.

I have already seen a poster or advertisement for this event. Has it already been approved?

Approval for an event requiring public consultation is only given after the consultation period has concluded and Council has had the opportunity to review any submissions.

Council discourages any event from promotions prior to Council approval.

In some instances, particularly national tours, there is a need for events to announce dates in each capital city. This however does not constitute Council approval for the event.
