Draft Integrated Climate Strategy 2023: The impacts of climate change are evident in our everyday environment. We know we need to make drastic change now and to make it ambitious. That’s why we’re bringing forward our target for ‘net zero’ emissions from 2050 to 2035. The City of Adelaide’s draft Integrated Climate Strategy details what we will commit to and how we will achieve it by 2030 and beyond so we can ease the impact of climate change for future generations. We can’t do this alone; we need your help to make this happen. Share your thoughts on our draft Integrated Climate Strategy. Consultation closes 5:00pm Friday 15 March 2024.

Gouger Street Revitalisation: The City of Adelaide has identified Gouger Street as a major project within its Main Streets Revitalisation Program. Find out more and let us know your ideas of how you would like to see Gouger Street enhanced, and what improvements are important to you as part of this project. You can also register your interest to participate in the upcoming concept design workshops. Registrations close 5:00pm Thursday 7 March 2024.

Proposal to amend Encroachment Policy: The Encroachment Policy was developed to manage different forms of encroachments in the public realm and ensure that they contribute positively on public safety and amenity. The current Policy is due for review, and your feedback will be used to inform the final updated Encroachment Policy. Consultation closes 5:00pm Monday 26 February 2024.

Reeces Lane: Council has been requested to investigate making a portion of Reeces Lane one-way. Find out more and let us know your thoughts here. Consultation closes 5:00pm Saturday 9 March 2024.

Toilets Park 17: Thank you for sharing your thoughts on moving the toilet in Park 17. We've listened to your feedback and identified a new potential location! We'd love to hear your thoughts on this new proposal. Consultation closes 5:00pm Monday 11 March 2024.

CONSULTATION UPDATES

Creating a 'greener' city: We would like to extend our gratitude to the vibrant community that actively participated in the consultation on the green infrastructure project at the intersection of Halifax and Hutt Streets. Feedback on the green structure's aesthetics was mixed; with 53% finding it strongly appealing or appealing, 18% expressing neutrality, and 28% finding it not appealing or strongly disliking it. Similarly, opinions on the structure's cooling potential varied, with 49% believing in its cooling effect, 26% in doubt, and 26% unsure of its impact. The overwhelming community support for tree-centric solutions and green infrastructure emphasises their pivotal role in fostering resilient urban environments. This invaluable feedback will be crucial in informing the City of Adelaide's development of an Urban Greening Strategy. Your insights guide us toward a greener, cooler, and more vibrant Adelaide. Community Land Management Plan (CLMP) for the Adelaide Park Lands: Thank you to everyone who participated in the consultation process for the draft Community Land Management Plan for the Adelaide Park Lands. A Consultation Summary Report which outlined all feedback was received by the City Planning, Development and Business Affairs Committee. In light of feedback received a comprehensive review of the draft CLMP was undertaken, leading to amendments aimed at providing more detailed information on various aspects. Following this review, the amended CLMP for the Adelaide Park Lands was adopted by Council during its meeting on October 10, 2023. You can access the adopted CLMP for the Adelaide Park Lands here.
