Project Information
Veale Gardens is part of the Adelaide Parklands and is located on South Terrace with dedicated ceremony areas for weddings.
The City of Adelaide has scheduled rehabilitation and improvements to the banks of the creek, two footbridges and several adjacent asphalt footpaths.
Background
The following Veale Gardens (Park 21) existing urban infrastructure items have been identified by the City of Adelaide (CoA) as requiring renewal to continue use of the area as an event space in the parklands:
Two footbridges to help with inefficient water reticulation, poor erosion control of adjacent footpath and the accessible width of the structures.
Creek that requires improvements to prevent water overflowing and soil erosion as well as improve pedestrian accessibility.
Several asphalt footpaths that require improvements to provide a safe and reliable urban infrastructure to the community.
Project Update
Stage 1 (eastern works)
Creek works: creek enhancements are complete.
Asphalt footpaths: asphalt footpath improvements are complete.
Footbridge upgrades: footbridge improvements are complete with beautiful Carey Gully rocks to enhance your experience.
Stage 2 will commence in January 2024.
