    Background

The project directly responds to the Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy 2015-2025 which recommends improved access and path networks and improvements to the netball courts and community courts in the Park.

In June 2017, the Lord Mayor attended a joint media announcement with Deputy Premier John Rau, where the Minister announced funding of $3.2million towards the upgrade of the regional netball facility and surrounds in Wikaparntu Wirra (Park 22).

    Project Information

The netball courts in Wikaparntu Wirra (Park 22) are used by over 200 teams through the year, with 188,000 people using the courts for school and amateur netball games. The project will deliver a major transformation to the netball facility to reflect its role as a regional netball hub in metropolitan Adelaide.

The existing court facilities will be refreshed and new community courts and play elements added to provide further recreation opportunities for both families visiting the park for sport and also the wider community (refer to the Location Plan).
