Following recent legislation changes (including the passing of the Statutes Amendment (Local Government Review) Act 2021) revisions to the City of Adelaide Standing Orders have been made. View the current City of Adelaide Standing Orders.
Outcome of Consultation on Council's Code Of Practice for Access to Meetings and Documents
That Council:
1. Notes the feedback received, on the way access is provided to Council and Committee meetings and associated documents, in response to consultation on the Code of Practice – Access to Meetings & Documents contained in Item 8 on the Agenda for the meeting of the Finance & Business Services Committee held on 20 October 2015; and
2. Notes that such feedback will inform practice and the review of the Standing Orders including the following specific requests:
2.1 To include the vote of each Council member on all motions and amendments in meeting minutes.
2.2 To include a clause in the Standing Orders to the effect that: when a matter involves sensitive commercial information, it should be discussed in two parts, with the broad issue debated in public, and only the sensitive commercial component discussed in confidence.
