Have your say on a licence application for a temporary closure of Vardon Avenue for the opening night of the Adelaide Film Festival
Project Background and Information
The Adelaide Film Festival is an international film festival held every two years in mid-October for two weeks, in Adelaide. The festival has a strong focus on local South Australian and Australian produced content.
The Adelaide Film Festival is proposing to close Vardon Avenue to create a cocktail style celebration to welcome the return of the Adelaide Film Festival and Australian Cinema to the East End.
The opening night event will run from 8.30 pm to 11.30 pm and will feature speeches from politicians and film stars with VIPs and guests in attendance.
Event details
To facilitate this event, it is proposed that Vardon Avenue between East Terrace and Rundle Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from 4.pm on Wednesday 14 October 2020 to 12:30.am on Thursday 15 October 2020.
From 8:30pm to 11:30pm on Wednesday 14 October 2020 public pedestrian access and egress will be detoured around the event site.
To facilitate the road closures, it is proposed that all the on-street parking spaces on the closed section of the roads will be changed to ‘No Stopping – Tow-Away’ for the duration of the road closures.
