Stage 2 Consultation

We sought targeted engagement with local residents and businesses to find the most suitable bus stop locations in North Adelaide. Engagement was undertaken regarding Tynte Street West, Tynte Street East, Jerningham Streetand Kingston Terrace.

Tynte Street West
Option 3A ‘Oxford Hotel’ was selected as the permanent bus stop location by Council. This bus stop is located on Tynte Street West northern side immediately west of the Tynte Street/O’Connell Street intersection. The stop location provided convenient access to the O’Connell Street precinct, however, was the furthest away from the North Adelaide Library and Post Office.

Tynte Street East
Option 3 'Lefevre Terrace' (former Adelaide Connector bus stop) was selected as the permanent bus stop location by Council. On 10 Feb 2015, the Tynte Street East stop was relocated onto Lefevre Terrace. This stop will undergo further improvements over the next few months to improve disability access and waiting conditions for passengers.

Jerningham Street
Option 3 ‘Majestic Apartments' was selected’as the permanent bus stop location by Council. This bus stop is located on Jerningham Street immediately north of the Finniss Street roundabout. This stop is located the furthest distance from the Melbourne Street precinct, but requires the least amount of on-street parking removal.

Kingston Terrace
Option 1 'Kingston Terrace' (near Lefevre Terrace) was selected as the preferred stop on Kingston Terrace. However, Council elected to retain this stop as a temporary stop until further investigations could be completed on the possibility of redirecting the bus service down Stanley Street. The stop will remain in its current location until a final decision can be made on the route and stop location.
