No. There are no parking spaces in this section of Solomon Street.
Why is only a small section of Solomon Street being upgraded?
The upgrade is the first in a series of streetscape upgrades for the area when future funding/budgets permit.
Will the road be accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.
Yes, the road, although closed to motor vehicles in general, is still a public road. Access for pedestrians and cyclists is required to be maintained unless permission from Council is granted to hold an event or activity that may require them to detour to nearby streets during the event or activity.
When will the closure start?
The permanent closure would commence ASAP, if approved by Council at its meeting of Tuesday 9 November 2021.
