What is the the Westpac City to Bay 2020?
The annual Westpac City-to-Bay Fun Run is Adelaide's largest running event attracting over 25,000 participants each year. The 12 km fun run starts in the Adelaide central business district and ends at the beach-side suburb of Glenelg.
An application has been received from SA Fun Runs Committee Inc to facilitate the “Westpac City to Bay Fun Run” to be within the City of Adelaide on Sunday 8 November 2020.
Following the 2018 and 2019 successes, 2020 will again feature a half marathon with participants leaving Colley Terrace, Glenelg at 6:00am and head towards the City on the same route as the City to Bay Fun Run course. To accommodate the half marathon, the road closure within the City of Adelaide will be enacted at 6:15am.
As per last year’s event, the Fun-Run participants will gather in Elder Park prior to the start of the event before moving onto King William Road in time for the start of the event at 8:00am.
How will the COVID-19 Pandemic impact this event?
This event has been re-scheduled from its original date of 20 September to 8 November 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All City of Adelaide event applications and approvals are subject to the Event Organisers complying with relevant laws, regulations, and restrictions in respect of the outbreak of COVID-19.
How will stakeholders be notified of this event?
If the event is approved all residents and businesses residing in the surrounding area will be notified of the upcoming event via a letterbox drop organised by the event organiser two weeks prior the event. Included in the letter will be details of expected noise, road closure details and an event hotline telephone number.
This event hotline telephone number is provided by the event organiser should a member of the public wish to lodge any feedback or concerns during the event.

Who can I contact during the event if I have any concerns regarding the event?
Events are required to provide an event hotline telephone number, should a member of the public wish to lodge any feedback or concerns during the event.
Any member of the public can use the event hotline number to provide their feedback to the event organiser. It is the responsibility of the event organiser to consider all feedback provided and take any necessary actions to remedy the issue. The event hotline phone number will be operated for the duration of the event.

Would fixed businesses remain accessible during the Westpac City to Bay 2020?
Yes, while the road will be closed to vehicular traffic, pedestrians will still be able to access the businesses on Roads as per Schedule above and the event organisers will ensure the footpaths are kept clear to provide clear access to existing premises.
Will commercial vehicles be able to service businesses within the road closures?
During the road closure no vehicles (authorised vehicles exempt) will be able to access the closed portion of road.
