We have received an application from Gluttony Food and Wine Festival Pty Ltd for the use of Rymill Park / Mullawirraburka to enable the Gluttony 2013 to take place from 14 February to 17 March 2013. Gluttony is a venue hub staging performances during the Adelaide Fringe 2013. The precinct will be licenced and have the capacity for 1,000 people at any one time.

Before council can grant a temporary event lease we are required to consult with the community as it may affect their access to the Park Lands.

    Gluttony activities have been held in the East Park Lands since 2010.  Gluttony is a venue hub staging a range of performances during the Adelaide Fringe 2013.

    Entry into the site will be free with ticketed performances at advertised times. Performance genres will include cabaret, circus, comedy, puppetry and burlesque. There will be no loud music acts or DJ’s.

    The event set up is scheduled to start on 11 February 2013 with pull down to be completed by 19 March 2013. The site will be licenced for 1,000 people and it is anticipated that it will attract approximately 400 people daily.

    Proposed Opening Hours:
    5.00 pm to 12.00 am on Mondays to Thursdays
    5.00 pm to 2.00 am on Fridays
    11.00 am to 2.00 am on Saturdays
    11.00 am to 1.00 am on Sundays

    Council is committed to creating a vibrant city full of exciting and popular cultural and artistic events.

    Gluttony will be registered as a part of Adelaide Fringe 2013 program. Adelaide Fringe is Australia’s largest arts Festival. An estimated 1.59 million people attended the Adelaide Fringe in 2012. Adelaide receives world-wide media coverage, including television, throughout the event period.

    The thoroughfare through to Rymill Park / Mullawirraburka will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists for the event duration. Some pathway sections will be cordoned off for public safety for limited periods during the setup and pull down from 11 February to 19 March 2013.

    Gluttony must comply with the Adelaide City Council’s Noise Mitigation Standard Operating Procedures and Gluttony organisers will be responsible for minimising impacts on the Park Lands by following Adelaide City Council’s Standard Operating Procedures for Events in the Park Lands. The event will be responsible for restoring the park at the end of the event.
