The New Royal Adelaide Hospital (NRAH) is seeking to apply for a 42 year lease over a portion of Tulya Wardli (Park 27). Located along the entrance of the new facility the NRAH intends to incorporate this portion into their design that will fully integrated with the NRAH development as public open space, thus maximising the effectiveness of the hospital’s interface with North Terrace.
Council has a legislative requirement to consult with the community when we receive a request for a lease term that exceeds 5 years as it may affect/impact the their use of the Park Lands. For lease terms over 10 years or more, Council is required to submit the lease and licence to State Government for final approval.

Shortly after Council endorsement and positive feedback, we have arranged for the draft NRAH lease to table to both Houses of Parliament on 2 June 2015.

There no Notice of Motion from the Legislative Council for the disallowance of the grant of lease dated 22 September 2015, we are now awaiting the confirmation from House of Assembly for final lease execution.
