Council recognises that retail and related service industries such as
hospitality are important drivers of growth and employment and
significant contributors to a vibrant, engaging and sustainable city. Council has engaged Retail IQ International to develop the
Adelaide City Retail Strategy.
This Retail Strategy will address
issues and opportunities facing retailers in both the physical and
digital environment and will provide a vision and roadmap for Council,
retailers and other associated stakeholders to follow over coming years
so that shoppers and visitors to the city are provided with a unique and
compelling retail offer across the entire City of Adelaide.

The Retail Strategy is currently being
finalised and is scheduled for a workshop with
Committee in December followed by a report to Council. These timings are of
course dependent on the induction of the new Council, post elections in November.
