Project Information

Council has approved a Terms of Reference for this Working Group, which is available by clicking here.

The Working Group will include a range of stakeholders that represent different city user groups and interests, including two community representatives.

The Terms of Reference specify that the community representatives must meet the following criteria:

  • Not a resident of the City of Adelaide
  • Either primarily travel by bike or car as the primary mode of transport (one representative for each mode will be selected)
  • Demonstrate knowledge, experience or an interest in providing strategic advice on transport into and within the city (including all modes) and contemporary transport planning approaches
  • Demonstrate an understanding and alignment with the vision, outcomes and actions outlined in CoA’s Strategic Plan 2020-2024.

Background

At its meeting in December 2021 Council approved that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) establish a Working Group to provide input into the development of the Cycling Infrastructure Strategic Action Plan (Action Plan). The papers provided to Council in relation to this decision can be found in the agenda to the Committee Meeting on 07 December 2021 (page 32), by clicking here.

The City of Adelaide Act requires Council to be ‘sensitive to the needs, interests and aspirations of individuals and groups within the City of Adelaide community’ where the City of Adelaide community is defined in the Act as including ‘all people who live, work, study or conduct business in, or who visit, use or enjoy the services, facilities and public places of, the City of Adelaide’. In line with this requirement, the Working Group will also include two community representatives that do not live in the city of Adelaide local government area.

    We are hoping that the two Community Members will assist in adding diversity to the members of the Working Group. Therefore, we have included some demographic questions at the end of this form.
