Update: July 2022
We are pleased to announce that the Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka Master Plan was adopted by Council on 12 July 2022.
Discussion at Council included the results of the community engagement, which demonstrated strong support for the proposals in the draft Master Plan, with:
- 89% of participants agreeing with the Master Plan's vision
- 93% of participants agreeing with Action 1 (Enhance the lake and surrounds)
- 71% of participants agreeing with Action 3 (Strengthen existing and create new event spaces)
- 77% of participants agreeing with Action 4 (Improve entrances and paths)
- 88% of participants agreeing with Action 5 (Reinforce the landscape character and features of the Park)
- 87% agreed that the changes would encourage them to use the Park more often.
It has been a long road...but worth it. We now look forward to continuing to implement the actions of the Master Plan.
The draft Master Plan and draft CLMP were consulted together due to their linked relationship – however, the approach to CLMP’s was recently changed and as a result, the draft CLMP for Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka (Park 14) will be addressed separately.
The consolidated CLMP will be presented to Kadaltilla in July and Council in August 2022, for the purposes of community consultation. Please keep an eye out for that project’s page on the Your Say Adelaide homepage to provide your feedback on the CLMP.
Update: February 2020
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback!
Due to the impact of COVID-19 and recent organisational reshaping, progress on the Master Plan and the Community Land Management Plan (CLMP) has been delayed.
We are currently aiming to make the final presentation of the Master Plan and CLMP, along with the report on the consultation findings to the Adelaide Park Lands Authority and Council for endorsement this year.
Thank you for your patience and interest in the project.
Project Background and Information
The Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy 2015-2025 identified this park as a place with great potential and ideal for “re-imagining”.
We are seeking your feedback on the draft Master Plan and draft Community Land Management Plan (CLMP) for Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka (Park 14). These documents work together to manage and plan for the park’s future.
The draft CLMP provides the framework for the overall management of the park, while the draft Master Plan sets out the actions that will help achieve the vision. Your input will confirm the direction of the CLMP, shape the final Master Plan and contribute to the future of the park.
Read the Engagement Pack for further information about the project.
