Why is Council considering this proposal?
Why is the trial being held?
The Club has indicated to Council that there is a general lack of parking spaces with adequate time limits for members and users of the bowling club facilities near the club rooms.
On match days - Wednesdays and Saturdays running from October to March of each year -many bowling club members and visitors park on the eastern side of Dequetteville Terrace, and then have to negotiate crossing 6 lanes of traffic, which can often be stressful and difficult for this group of people.
What is the trial proposing to achieve?
It is proposed that bowling
club members and visitors will experience greater access on Wednesdays via an additional
18 permit car park spaces being made available in this car park on Wednesdays for
the entire bowling season.
The bowling season runs from October to March each year with games being held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, why are the additional permit spaces not being made available on Saturdays?
When will the trial period begin and how long will it run for?
The trial will begin on
1 October 2018, running for 12 months and finishing on 30 September 2019.

Will the new parking controls be in place after 31 March 2019?
