What does Community Land status mean and why do we need to change it?
All local government land (except roads) that is owned by council or under council’s care, control and management is classified as community land. Council can only dispose of land after revoking this classification.
Will the sale of Walter Street Car Park impact on my parking?
No, this car park has been a private car park since 1969.
What will the Walter Street site be used for?
This site may remain a private car park or be redevelop for residential use. A change in use will require public consultation.
What happens to my feedback?
Your feedback on this project will be collated and presented in a report to Council. This information will assist Council in its consideration of the Community Land Status for this site. Once Council makes the final decision you will be notified of outcome.
