Have your say on a permit application for temporary whole or partial road closures
Project Background and Information
We are seeking feedback on an application from Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute to close a portion of Tam O’Shanter Place to support the delivery of the Tandanya First Nations Hub 2021 during the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2021.
The proposal is to close a section of Tam O’Shanter Place from Grenfell Street to a point approximately 40m south, adjacent the Tandanya building, from 7am on Thursday 18 February 2021 to 5pm on Monday 22 March 2021 to ensure the safety of patrons accessing the doorway at the western side of the Tandanya building which does not have an adjoining footpath. This additional access and egress point will also enable the venue to implement social distancing measures in response to COVID-19.
Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute was established in 1989 and is Australia’s oldest Aboriginal-owned and managed multi-arts centre. Located at 253 Grenfell Street, Adelaide, it is a centre for all to experience contemporary and traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural expressions through visual and performing arts. See here for more information about Tandanya.
Tandanya previously closed this same section of Tam O’Shanter Place during the 2020 Adelaide Fringe Festival to support safe patron access into the venue for performances and events.
