Project Information
The City of Adelaide is drafting an Urban Greening Strategy to help guide our priorities for greening into the future. The City of Adelaide is committed to protecting and improving our natural environment. Our Urban Greening Strategy is designed to set out our goals and ensure our ongoing efforts contribute to the thriving of the natural surroundings.
Your ideas, comments and feedback about greening in the City of Adelaide can shape how we plan, grow and expand nature in the face of a changing climate.
Through this engagement, we are aiming to:
The City of Adelaide is the only ‘City in a Park’, with the bustling capital district and inner-city suburbs surrounded by the National Heritage Listed Adelaide Park Lands.
Our tree lined streets, gardens and parks offer high quality public spaces that are valued for heritage, cultural and social reasons, used for a variety of activities, support urban biodiversity and enable connections with nature.
An Urban Greening Strategy will focus priorities, investment and outcomes to help achieve our tree canopy cover targets and deliver green infrastructure that is resilient in the face of a changing climate and reflective of the community’s desires for the future.
What happens next?
Community feedback/submissions will be workshopped internally as the Urban Greening Strategy is drafted. A final draft will be released for community consultation in 2024.
