Why do we need a new regional public health plan (Wellbeing Plan)?

Council has a legislative responsibility to review and update their regional public health plan at least every five years. The City of Adelaide Wellbeing Plan 2020 – 2025 meets this responsibility by outlining Council’s community health and wellbeing outcomes and key actions to achieve those outcomes for the next five years.

Why are the Wellbeing Plan outcomes and actions the same as Council’s Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024 outcomes and actions?

As the City of Adelaide has always had a commitment to the health and wellbeing of its communities, this is naturally already reflected in the City of Adelaide Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024 community outcomes and key actions.

Aligning the outcomes and actions of the two Plans ensures that they will be appropriately programmed, resourced and progressed. The Wellbeing Plan will also benefit from the rigour of the Strategic Plan monitoring and reporting process.

What changes could be made to the Wellbeing Plan following community consultation?

The Wellbeing Plan outcomes and actions are aligned to those in the Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024, which has been endorsed by Council. Feedback provided in this consultation will help inform the more detailed planning and implementation of key actions including potential partners and collaborators as well as identifying potential supporting projects and initiatives.
