Background and information

The City of Adelaide Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan 2018- 2021 is entering its final year of guiding a shared vision for delivering of meaningful reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The consultation process for the Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan 2018 - 2021 can be viewed here.

Our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is recognised by Reconciliation Australia as the first in local government in Australia to extend over several years, providing a unique framework for integration of strategic advice to Council through Six Guiding Principles:

  • Participation
  • Negotiation
  • Communication and Public Awareness
  • Service Provision
  • Cultural Identity and Heritage
  • Commemoration
